In Martinique, the rate of Obesity is very high. I personally know people that have made that surgery where they cut a part of your stomach to help you lose weight. It is the final solution for those who are in a criticise position (BMI 35+).
In another life, being a doctor was my dream job, so I went to medical school, but the truth is that I am too sensitive for that job. , I am very passionate about sport and nutrition. It becomes more accurate when I have met my Bodybuilder friend Henri. We have collaborated twice in the past and the results were amazing.
Fit your life, is more than a resolution that you should take for the new year. Fit your life is a sustainable lifestyle!! It is also the name of a muscular contest organized in Martinique. The aim is to give awards to people who stand up for their health. On the other hand, they also judge the best physic in categories like Bikini, Bikini Wellness, Bodybuilding, Men’s physique.
Last year, from January to May, I trained myself with men’s physique athletes. I remember that after my first session with them, it was a leg one, I was not able to walk properly. People thought that I was ill. Best moment ever.
Ok, now let’s focus a little more about the nutrition part!
In simple, if you want to lose weight you need to create a calorie deficit whereas a calorie surplus is needed to gain weight. Your weight is a combination of water, muscle, bone and fat. In my case, I track my fat percentage with my body analytic scale.
It is also interesting, to
- Ectomorph: tends to be thin and struggles to gain weight. They tend to have a lean build, long limbs, and small muscle bellies.
- Endomorph: tends to gain weight and keep it on. Thick ribcage, wide hips and shorter limbs.
- Mesomorph: tends to have a natural tendency to be fit and relatively muscular. They tend to have wide shoulder, a narrow waist, relatively thin joints and round muscle bellies.
A calorie is a unit of energy. It is just a tool to help you understand how much energy your body could get by eating or drinking this food. I prefer to focus on the macro elements such as protein, carbs and fats. It is better to avoid products with saturated fats which are bad for health. Carbs are not your enemies. However, it is better to eat complex carbohydrates found in whole grains, starchy vegetables, legumes, rice…
