Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation (BOCCF)
Today, I have visited the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation. Established in 1984 it is located near Phaneromeni Church in the historical center of Nicosia. The foundation is housed in the old administrative building of the Bank of Cyprus built in 1936.
It was my second visit there. Last time I attended an exposition about the World War II. This time, I have visited the George and Nefeli Giabra Pierides Collection. This collection covers the period from the Early Bronze Age (2500 B.C) to the Medieval period (16th Century).
I really like this place because you always learn something new. Today, the place was receiving children around 8 years old. It was also interesting to see that group of retired persons attending that expo about world war II.
So, back to my tour in the Georges and Nefeli Giabra Pierides Collection! Art is one of my passion and I have to say that I was very impressed by that collection. They even have a digital tool where you place a piece of an old object in the centre and it can reconstitute the whole object! It gives you also a lot of information and I find it amazing.
Well, it really blows my mind. It is always a pleasure to know more about a civilization through its history.
