Deep raining thoughts
Amazing sound of nature these days in Nicosia beacuse of the rain and thounderstorms … but as always after the rain comes the rainbow! Like in our life we have to go through some difficulties in order to enjoy good moments.
Furthermore like it was raining hard ..I was deep raining with thoughts and memories of my six months duration of European Voluntary Service here in Nicosia. It starts when I decided to apply for EVS from my lovely city beacuse of unemployment in Greece. But after that difficulty when I came in Cyprus I felt again creative. Although I’m wondering how can I just describe with words so many fellings from that beautiful island that reminds a paradise especially when it comes to fullfilled with nine amazing personalities.
I feel lucky for living in this island and because here I met these amazing friends that made my day everyday special. We used to live and work all together. It is kind of dangerous if you think about it but we are like family that lives in multicultural harmony. I will really miss the moments that we cooked and ate all together, our gatherings full of different opinions and experiences that brought us closer to the others cultures and of course I understood better mine.
EVS is a great opportunity to learn and improve many things. First of all languages and get more confident because you are all the time practicing, so you can improve it and learn new words or expressions. By living and working in a multicultural place you explore and understand better yourself. Especially when you have a project for EDUTAINMENT that you try to educate by entairntaining others its more complicated but interesting. We had the chance to learn things in a non-formal way. The project has to do with interactions and communication with local community. We have had plenty of activities that combined education and entertainment. To achieve this challenge we had an everyday schedule that my coordinator sent but also we had the opportunity to do things we like as a hobby in our countries and of course the freedom to write and do things in our field of studies.
I would like to thank all of my EVS TEAM-FAMILY (nine volunteers and my coordinators) and all the cypriot citizens I met here that make a good memorable of six months living in Cyprus. I would definitely recommend it to young people who like travelling and exploring themselves. Try an EVS! Even if it ends..Time flies! I have only one week to finish my project and I can’t believe it. But I think this is just a chapter of my life. Another one is waiting for me to explore it..Let’s see!
