The story of us is a documentary series hosted and narrated by the actor Morgan Freeman. It is televised by National Geographic Channel in 2017. The series presents and examines some fundamental aspects that leads humanity, such as: peace, freedom, power and love. The main purpose of this series it to show that despite the differences between cultures and religion that sometimes become a border between us, people have more in common. The series has 6 episodes in total. In all episodes, the actor Morgan Freedom travels the world and talks with people and shows different aspects of cultures and how we are all actually the same.
The first episode, The March of Freedom, presents the concept of freedom through many cultures and countries. It answers the question: What freedom means?
The second episode, The Fight for Peace, puts the problem if was is really necessary and it shows a small imagine of the balance between war and peace or violence and harmony.
The third episode, The Power of Love explores the love in all forms and how it survives in different and unexpected places. Also, it shows how love can make a change in this world.
Us and Them is the 4th episode of the series and the main purpose is to show what drives us to divide. It presents the concept of ”us” and ”them”.
The episode number 5, The Power of US shows a a look at democracy and how the power is distributed. Another case is born, how we can talk about the equal say that everyone should have when the decisions taken by the president affects not only the citizens, but the whole world.
The last episode, The Rebel Spirit, puts accent on understanding how a rebellion can have success and what it takes to have the courage to stand up and to change the world.
Although the series only has 6 episodes, it is a powerful one that will make you question many things and it will make at least, a small change in the way you see the world. It is that kind of series that will challenge your way of thinking.
