August: fruits and vegetables in season
Last week I started watching a series called the ‘journey of food’, it’s very interesting for me because the traditional cuisine reminds me of the history and the culture of my place and in general if you want to know the roots of one’s country is very important to learn about the traditional plates, the raw materials of each place in order to cook delicious and healthy meal combined with modern or different way cooking.
For example, the Mediterranean diet started by mistake and not on purpose because of the poverty after the World War II in many areas in Greece and Italy, especially on a Greek island, Creta. On this island, people’s diet was based on fruits, vegetables, cereals, olive oil combined with physical exercise, the motto of ‘don’t worry be happy’ and last but not least share your food with other people. So, all these things are the elements and the basis of the best diet in the world. Which is happened because of the need.
But, the most important thing is to eat healthily and live in harmony with nature. Speaking about the harmony with nature could be a separate article, so let’s talk about the fruits and vegetables that you should buy depending on the month.
If you want healthy and fresh fruits and vegetables you have to know that everything has its time. What is producing in natural conditions?!
